§  Tasks of the Department: It conducts scientific activities on the border of psychiatry and other medical disciplines, including medical biology; Conducting pre- and post-graduate didactic activities, usually in the field of consultative psychiatry; Conducting service activities for the users of Clinical Hospitals (USK) and the Lower Silesian Oncology Center (DCO) with the scope of psychology in other medical disciplines.

The project aims to detect and incorporate latent cerebral ischemia in a group of Polish residents between the ages of 40 and 60. The results of the research permit to develop a model taking into account the environment, individual and clinical risk of developing dementia.

As part of cooperation, research is being conducted in the field of psychodermatology, a medical discipline describing the relationship between psychopathology and skin symptoms. Within their framework, research on onychophagy, trichotillomania, and comorbid pruritus in the course of depressive disorders is conducted, among others. The result of previous work is a number of publications and congress reports.
